The New Porsche 911 Is Here

The new 911 is the sum of its predecessors and is, therefore, a reflection of the past and a vision for the future. For the eighth generation, this timeless machine has the same iconic silhouette, but is equipped with countless new upgrades. The new 992 powertrain is more powerful than the previous 911 generation, with an increase of 23 horsepower and 22 lb-ft torque. The increase in efficiency can be pinpointed by an all-new 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), which is standard, with a manual transmission option coming later. Newly designed Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) increases sporty performance and comfort, while driver assistance systems such as Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Night Vision Assist, and the new Wet Mode, make driving your Porsche even more fun and easier than you ever thought possible. The new Wet Mode detects water on the road and then adjusts the ABS and stability control automatically to ensure that you're always in complete control. Drive into the future with the new 2020 Porsche 911.

The new 911 made its world premier on November, 28th, 2018 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Check out the full reveal here. Scroll down to learn more about all of the great features and details of the 2020 Porsche 911.

Exterior Design

The new 911 maintains the same iconic, timeless design but, at the same time, proves how contemporary it is, especially from behind. The rear-end is innovative, powerful, and precisely designed. The wheels in the rear have grown by 1 inch to 21 inches, while the wheels in the front remain the same 20 inches to enhance the aggressive, sporty design. The rear window appears visually extended and merges, almost seamlessly, into the black tailgate grille. Beautifully integrated within the black tailgate grille is the new, vertical, third brake light. Between the three-dimensional LED taillights is the seamless light strip that elegantly displays the newly designed model logo in Light Silver. To round off the gorgeous back-end is the rear fascia that surrounds the newly designed tailpipes of the exhaust system.

In addition to the upgrades in the rear, the new 911 looks even more athletic and sporty due to the 1.77 inches added to the width of the front. The new 992 design dynamically unites traditional and modern. While viewing the 2020 Porsche 911 from the front, the clearly-shaped fenders highlight the powerful shape and design of the entire vehicle. The newly designed front lid showcases signature dynamic recess profiles and a straight slope to the front fascia, acting as a nod to the 911 models of the first generation. Elegantly meshing the old with the new, modern LED technology is used in the headlights with four-point daytime running lights and low beam. The new details on the front and rear ends, exterior mirrors, and retractable door handles make the new 911 more polished, technical, and advanced, while still staying completely true to its name.

Interior Design

Completing the amazing 2020 Porsche 911 is the pioneering interior. Just like the exterior, the interior of the new 911 reflects all of the strengths of the old models, while expanding to new possibilities. For optimal operating comfort and functionality, all relevant operating controls are located, within grasp, to the left and right of the multifunction sport steering wheel. Directly in the driver's view is the instrument cluster with analog tachometer and two high-resolution 7˝ displays that are both fully customizable. Right beside the 7" displays is the high-resolution 10.9" touchscreen display with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) including online navigation.

This new 992 combines sport with luxury unlike ever before. From intuitive technology to great comfort, the completely redesigned Sport seats offer secure support even on dynamic cornering maneuvers. The multifunction sport steering wheel allows for comfortable use of audio, telephone and navigation functions. Every button, every grip, every air outlet has been carefully considered down to the last detail and in top-notch quality. The high-grade feel is highlighted by the finishes in Dark Silver Diamar or, as an option, Light Silver Diamar, brushed aluminum or fine wood. Other leather and finish variations are available upon request.
